I watched Kaia while Tim and Jen were out of town for work.

She wanted to watch this DVD, but Grandma C couldn't figure

out how to work the DVD player. We were headed to Daycare...

These are the ladies that worked so hard in the kitchen

for the meal following Laurie Z's wonderful service.

The only table left was the short preschool one...

Kaia has brought such JOY to our lives...

the party is this Sunday.

How "Crimson" are we? She liked clapping

with the crowd.

unless it's Cougar Football Saturday and

we get a victory!

Or if you get to share treats with your Cousin!Or cheering with Grandpa!

A bit of smile even though she is missing Mommy this week.

What a GREAT weekend in Seattle
with Tim, Jen and precious Kaia!
Kaia did a lot of people and fish watching
at the Aquarium with Mom, Dad, Gramps and Grandma.

On Saturday, Kaia spent her first afternoon

at Emerald Downs and LOVED the ponies!

Lunch and the race form kept her entertained, too!

Earlier that day, she and Gramps checked out

the horses at the farm.

Great Grandma (G-G) and Grandpa gave us the tour...

Queen Sarabi's colt is due in Jan. 2010

Lots of petting of the horse.

Memory lane...about 26 years ago Gramps held Jen

when she was a toddler with one of his early horses.

Horses, horses and more horses!

There was a little apprehension at first

but with a little encouragement--Kaia

decides she likes the BIG pony...

and the little pony!

Kaia gets to see her first Yankees game

against the Mariners at Safeco Field.

And Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, Jodi, Brenda and John

joined her at the game 8-14-09.

After dinner at our favorite--the Crab Pot on Pier 57!

A week earlier, we had a little fun on the farm after

helping Gramps pull up the old floor in the dining room.

Kaia is getting so close to being mobile.

And the Moose likes to hang out in the shade by

the carport and munch on the apples.
And Kaia is experiencing lots of summer produce--

watermelon, cherries, blueberries...and corn on the cob.

We have all been blue this past week

with Great-Grandma CJ's passing.

She turned 86 on June 21 and

one week later she went home to be

with the Lord and reunited with Howard.

CJ shared lots of special memories with

her family at Priest Lake and she was

with us this past weekend in spirit!

Kaia loves getting her toes wet in Priest Lake.

She loved the Lake and learned to patty-cake,

wave good-bye, and high five!

new M Resort down the street from

her apartment in Henderson.

The M has an awesome pool and outdoor stage area

The M is GORGEOUS...the lobby, spa and wine cellar!

She needed some color in her apartment,

We celebrated our 30th anniversary at the Palazzo

with an breathtaking view and relaxing

meal on the patio at the Del Toro Restaurant.

Kaia wasn't feeling good the day

that Grandpa and Grandma babysat.

She had a bad G-I virus and lost about 11 oz.

Yes, I used a yard stick to see how much snow was on the bench outside Dawn's front door.

That is my faithful Blazer! I dropped Dawn at work and then was headed down the freeway when I received the call that the City was closed--which meant the library, too!

This is the view out the front door...no deer today.

Guess we won't be BBQ'ing this weekend.

Moving a bit slow on Tuesday after the wedding festivities, I joined Barb and Kelli for a bit of a walking tour through Caesar's and Bellagio Resorts.

On Wednesday, we headed out of town with Steve and Stef to Lake Las Vegas.
We had lunch at an outdoor Pub until "the birds" started dive-bombing us and stealing the sweet & low right off the table. (Kirk, Barb, Stef, Steve & Sid)

Red Rock Buffet - Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008

About 50 wedding guests (including a Russian couple) travelled to the Red Rock Resort to enjoy a filling meal at the Feast Buffet. Our plane was delayed 2.5 hrs in Seattle and we almost missed this outing. But Peggy and Dawn pinch-hit for me and rallied the troops to load the bus. Jen, Tim and Baby Kaia were exhausted from the long day of traveling and remained at the hotel.

This is a family blog to share with those--near and far. The summer is going so fast with only a couple months until we are grandparents in October and add son-in-law, Steve, to our growing family. Stef and Jen just before the bridal shower.

The Bridal Shower

The elegant tablesettings included her colors of lavender and ivory white. Guests enjoyed cheesecake topped with blueberries and fruit kabobs--along with tea and coffee.

Sister Jen, cousin Maddie and friend Laura Beth assisted with the gifts.
